Update on resurfacing

We have received the following from Shropshire Council Highways, with thanks to Susan Coleman for chasing a response:

"The resurfacing works at B4380 - Atcham Village, were originally scheduled for Monday 2nd March. This scheme had initially been planned for delivery in summer 2027, but due to changes in funding, several schemes were brought forward for completion before April 2026.

"Due to workload pressures, the design package was delayed, which resulted in revised dates being identified. The end of the financial year is a particularly busy time, and schemes can be subject to change for a variety of reasons. Whilst some design work may have been undertaken previously, given the time that has elapsed, a review was necessary to ensure the precise details of the surfacing treatment was captured. I have been informed that the design work is now complete and should be with us tomorrow.

"Our contractor’s traffic management company were informed of the revised dates, but unfortunately, there was a breakdown in communication, and the advance warning sign was put out in error

"The resurfacing works on the B4380 at Atcham Village are now planned to take place from Monday 27th April to Friday 1st May. Exact timings are currently being finalised, and these will be communicated in due course."
