We have been passed the following information from Shropshire Council via Cllr Susan Coleman:
Resurfacing works on B4380 - Atcham Village
These works are scheduled to take place from 2nd March 2026, for 5 days. Exact timings are still being finalised.
The works will involve the following activities:
Removal of studs and or other street furniture (as required by the design).
Planing out the existing surface to various depths and dispose of the arisings.
Laying the new surface to specified depths and then allowing it to set/ cure before reopening to traffic.
Application of new road markings.
To ensure these works are carried out efficiently and safely for both the public and our workforce, a road closure will be required. A signed diversion route will be in place, and all vehicles would be asked to follow this.
The works will be completed in phases, and we will always aim to maintain access to homes and businesses wherever it is safe and practicable to do so. Gatemen will be on site throughout the works to assist with access when needed.
Emergency vehicle access will be permitted through the site whenever it is safe and practicable to do so.
